Assistant Head – United States Visiting Forces (USVF) Lakenheath Domestic
About the United States Visiting Forces Team:
Supporting the Infrastructure and Facilities Management (FM) needs of the United States Visiting Forces (USVF) in the UK, you will be joining the largest commercial team in the Defence Infrastructure Organisation with responsibility for Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) spend of more than £3bn and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) of £2.5bn per annum.
This Client-side role will oversee the development and implementation of commercial and procurement strategies for a diverse portfolio of leading-edge multi-year, multi-million-pound Infrastructure assets and FM requirements. As an integral part of our team, working with the United States Air Force, this role will rely on successfully managing relationship and transactions with suppliers in the UK Construction and FM market to deliver our essential CAPEX and OPEX projects.
Within the Commercial team this role supports the United States Visiting Forces (USVF) who are permanently located at MOD sites across the UK. The team is divided into 4 workstreams by location and Commercial Activity.
This Grade 7 post leads a team which delivers major construction projects at bases around the UK covering both Procurement and Contract Management activities, ensuring the development and continuity of the United States Air Force’s (USAF) critical strategic mission in Europe.
The team are based around the UK with small hubs around Wyton (Cambridge), Whittington (Lichfield), Andover and Glasgow. The organisation has adopted a hybrid approach to working, with some travel to sites throughout England required.
USVF Commercial is a dynamic and talented, friendly team working at the heart of some of the most exciting and interesting infrastructure projects in the UK, in support of the United States Air Force mission in Europe. This role works closely with both US military & civilian personnel and UK colleagues to deliver operational capability across the USVF sites within the UK, on a wide variety of infrastructure projects, many of considerable strategic importance.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to agree a contractual workplace from those locations listed in this advert. When selecting your location listed in this job advert please be aware that this will be your contractual base location with a requirement to spend a minimum of 60% of your working time in this organisational workplace.
